Our group enjoyed a lovely trip to Mellerstain House, near St Boswells.
The outing began with an appetising lunch in the Courtyard cafe, before touring the house and gardens.
In 1725, the Baillie family commissioned William Adams to construct two wings, which were later joined together by his son Robert Adams, with a very grand central block to complete an imposing semi-crenellated mansion.
Guides were only too happy to answer questions and relate interesting stories, which made the tour fascinating.
We were extremely well looked after by drivers John and Simon, of Berwickshire Wheels Community Transport, and were treated to a pleasing scenic journey home.
