Latest news from Berwick Stroke Club
Our first '˜get together' of 2017, held in The Granary, gave members the opportunity to catch up on each other's news.
The agenda for the AGM was discussed and held the following Monday in Berwick Garden Centre at East Ord.
Danielle Cottrill travelled up from the Stroke Association headquarters in Team Valley to chair the meeting. It appears that many local stroke victims are not aware of our club and more posters have been printed to distribute.
We organise fund-raising during the winter months to cover the costs of the many varied outings organised for members during the better weather.
ASDA has invited us to do a ‘bucket collection’ in its store on Sunday, January 29. A Valentine’s Dance is to be organised in St Aidan’s Hall on Sunday, February 12, followed by a collection at one of Berwick Rangers’ football matches, a car boot sale and street tombola.
It was also suggested by our treasurer that some type of fund-raising should be arranged during the Stroke Association’s purple month of May.
Suggestions for summer outings were given to the secretary to investigate for wheelchair accessibility.
