Latest news from Berwick Stamp Club
The February meeting was held at the Abbey Road Centre in Kelso on Thursday, February 18.
This was the first time that the club had met outside of the Berwick area.
The number of members attending was a little disappointing, but the presentation by Phil Collar, a member of Berwick Stamp Club, was extremely interesting.
The presentation lasted nearly two-and-a-half-hours, some 30 minutes longer than usual.
The topic was South Atlantic countries and covered The Falklands, St Helena and Ascension Island. The presentation was an in-depth study of the three regions and was amply illustrated with a variety of philatelic items.
The next meeting will be again at our usual venue, Spittal United Reformed Church Hall, in Main Street, on Thursday, March 17, starting at 2pm.
The speaker will be Steve Dixon, the current president of North East Philatelic Societies (NEPA) and a member of Newcastle PS, from Hexham.
His presentation is titled Diamonds and Royalty so, if you are reading this, perhaps you would like to come along to this rather special meeting.
Membership is £12 yearly, or £1.50 per meeting if you are not a member. Refreshments are provided free.
