Berwick became a member of the North East Philatelic Association, which formed in 1944 from the North of England Philatelic Society, which had been formed in December 1903 in Newcastle.

In 1950 the first annual convention of NEPA was held in Gateshead, and the second in 1951 was held in Berwick.

The annual member subscription to NEPA was 12p and today is 40p. The subscription to Berwick is £12, which is modest compared to many other organisations. This is good value, providing more than mere membership, such as friendship, education, guest presenters, stamp/postcard fairs and help with collections.

Our next meeting is on Thursday, March 16, at 2pm, in the United Reformed Church, Spittal. The guest speaker will be Mike Mood, NEPA president. His presentation is entitled An Afternoon Of Three Halves. Free refreshments are provided. Anyone interested in stamp/postcard collecting is most welcome.
