Berwick Rotary Club inducted its first new member of the year, when Dr Nolan Dalrymyle was welcomed at the meeting in Upper West Street. Junior vice-president David Ross conducted the ceremony.

Nolan, a local man, is a teacher of English at Longridge Towers School.

Guest speaker was David Greenall, who joined two years ago, and he gave an interesting talk in the ‘My Job’ series.

Born in Bolton, Lancashire, he became a civil engineer designer, building a reputation for his work in the North of England. He eventually became a director of structural engineering with a major construction firm. He set up his own business in 2009. He now lives in Scremerston.
