Latest news from Berwick Naturalists Club
On the morning of Thursday, May 17, more than 40 members of Berwick Naturalists Club visited Blackdykes Farm near North Berwick.
Janey Dalrymple briefly described how, 25 years ago, she set out to create a garden from a piece of windy East Lothian farmland.
Members were then free to explore the wonderful results of her efforts.
In the afternoon a slightly smaller party assembled at Tantallon Castle, where they were entertained and informed by Andrew Spratt, of Historic Environment Scotland.
He not only gave them a conducted tour of the castle, but also demonstrated a fearsome array of medieval weaponry.
It was an excellent start to the society’s season of visits, blessed with excellent weather.
