Mini-bus: Due to the school closure, the mini-bus has been donated to Bell View. The school was responsible for the upkeep of the bus and the trustees do not feel they could continue this in the long term. We have donated grants to Bell View to assist with transport costs to help alleviate loneliness and social isolation, as well as contributing to its gym.

Belford Arts Festival: We are the main sponsors of the festival. A great deal of hard work has gone into this and special thanks go to Fiona Renner-Thompson and Judy Mudd.

Shop: We have invested in our shop. The inside was decorated earlier in the year, and now the outside. We would like to thank our wonderful volunteers.

Community Gym: We have invested in new equipment and will redecorate, as well as add further equipment once we know if we are able to lease the building from the county council. Thanks to Ian and Steve for their work.

Website: A new village website was launched earlier this year, which we feel is a great asset. Thanks go to Amanda White for the effort she put in to get this project completed.

Summary of our expenditure: £7,000 play park; £3,000 shop redecoration; £1,600 Silver Sneakers; £800 toddlers’ play group; £250 pensioners’ Christmas party; £500 Christmas lights; £600 Christmas pantomime; £100 Candle Festival; £850 Friendship For Ages project with Bell View; £579 hearing loop – Ferguson Hall; £4,200 2018 Arts Festival; £400 newsletter printing. £20,000 approximately. The amount does not include business expenses, i.e. insurance, fuel, gym rental, caretaking, equipment renewal and shop waste disposal, which would be in excess of £7,000pa.

Dave Ogden and Val Barnsley keep us on track day-to-day and with monthly reports and accounts. This is a huge task on top of running their business and we cannot thank them enough.

We know we can always improve, but many of our trustees and volunteers also work. If you have anything you would like to discuss, please contact one of our trustees. Our accounts and treasurer’s report are available on the website, as well as in the shop.

If you would like to apply for a grant, please get a form from the shop or download from the website.

Our AGM will be held on September 14, at 6pm, at Bell View Resource Centre.
