Our president Christine Hutchinson welcomed everyone to our November meeting.

Some of the things happening during November and December were our lunch club at the Craster Arms, Beadnell, on November 22, the village quiz night on November 28 in the Castle Inn, Christmas at Hexham Abbey on December 15 and carol singing at Heighley Gate on December 20.

We also made arrangements for our Christmas party on December 14.

Instead of having a speaker this month we had an Iced Flowers workshop, and Margaret Smith, from Belford, gave an excellent demonstration, showing us how to make, not only flowers, but also various Christmas items.

She made it seem so easy and we all started off very confidently, but then some of us found it more difficult than others. However, we were soon engrossed in various colours of icing, glitter, gold and silver balls, edible glue, rolling pins and cocktail sticks, and I’m sure some Christmas cakes will be looking especially good this year.
