Latest call-outs for local lifeboat crews
Both Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats were launched shortly before 2pm on Monday, to assist Scottish Ambulance Service extract a casualty with a suspected broken leg at Horsecastle Bay, near St Abbs Head.
Seahouses RNLI was scrambled last Thursday following a Mayday call from a yacht which was taking on water and in danger of sinking.
The stricken vessel was just south of Holy Island and requested immediate assistance. The RNLI crew helped to repair a gasket – the cause of the water ingress. The yacht was then towed to safety.
On August 11, Berwick’s inshore lifeboat was called out to reports of a pink inflatable drifting in the river up by the bypass bridge. On scene it was found that two large pink flamingos had been abandoned.
