Knitted poppies created for Scremerston church
A cascade of knitted and crocheted poppies has been created for St Peter's Church, Scremerston, by members of the local Knit, Knatter and Kake group.
Over the last few weeks they have made 2,000 poppies, some of which can also be seen decorating the interior of the church, the church gates and the war memorial.
This is part of the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
A Remembrance Service will be held at the War Memorial at 11am on Sunday, November 11 followed by a service in St Peter’s Church.
The Knit, Knatter and Kake group meet every Monday from 2pm to 3.45pm in the Community Room, Scremerston First School. If you are interested please drop in to any session.
