Key figure to retire from NSA

The Northern Region of the National Sheep Association will bid farewell to Julie Sedgewick next week.

At this year’s annual general meeting, to be held on Thursday, February 25, a presentation will be made to Julie who retires this year as northern region manager.

A key figure in British Agriculture, Mrs Sedgewick has won countless awards for her own stock, both sheep and cattle, and has been instrumental in establishing annual NSA events in the farming calendar in both England and Scotland.

NSA members will be welcome to the association’s key meeting of the year, which takes place at Hexham Mart’s Tynedale Function Suite, at 7.30pm.

After the AGM, there will be three guest speakers. The first, Steve Dunkley, is senior regional manager for the North East AHDB Beef and Lamb. The second will be Phil Stocker, NSA chief executive, who will give an update on NSA policy work and the political situation within the sheep industry. Finally, Thomas Carrick, NSA northern region next generation ambassador for 2015, will give a report on his activities.

All members of the NSA and friends are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be available.
