Katy will be performing her latest comedy show I Was a Teenage Christian at The Maltings on Saturday, at 8pm, exploring the extreme period in her life when at the age of 13, she converted to evangelical Christianity.

In an hour-long chatty and conversational stand-up show she looks back at her experiences – some cringeworthy, mocking her then obnoxious self along the way.

With great reviews, Katy Brand’s I Was a Teenage Christian promises to be another not-to-be-missed event in The Maltings line-up of comedy.

After five years working in television production, Katy decided to make the leap back into performing and wrote a comedy monologue in 2004. From performing a few open spots in London pubs, she was given the chance to perform in a weekly live sketch show, Ealing Live!

A year later, she took her show to the Edinburgh Festival, Celebrities Are Gods, leading to her first commission in television, Channel 4’s Comedy Lab Slap, which was later commissioned by ITV. From this came Katy Brand’s Big Ass Show and more.

Tickets cost £12.50, concs £10-£11 concs, available at www.maltingsberwick.co.uk or through the box office on 01289 330999.
