Joining forces

A formal parade of around 650 soldiers took place in July 2006 to mark the merging of the King's Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) with the Royal Scots to form the Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The march took place on August 1, which also marks the date at which the KOSB won the Battle of Minden in 1759, which was marked by a Minden Day Parade in Berwick.
