STRUGGLING -- Holbrook St Michaels.

For the second week in a row Tweedmouth started this Waddell Cup game slowly and failed to get into any kind of rhythm.

It was the visitors who took the lead after the home side failed to clear from the edge of the 18 yard box, leaving goalkeeper Stobbart exposed with no chance to make a save.

Tweedmouth were forced into making an early change with Renton coming off with a shoulder injury to be replaced by Wright.

Tweedmouth were boosted by a ‘highlighted’ team talk, and they started the second half far better.

Tweedmouth found themselves well on top and Jenkins put them in front with a calm finish from a tight angle at the near post, which ended up being the winning goal.

Tweedmouth can take credit for their workman ike performance but must learn to start taking their chances in front of goal.
