Indie rock band get festival headline slot
A new act has been announced as the Friday night headliner for a weekend-long north Northumberland music festival this summer.
Indie rock band British Sea Power will top the Friday night bill at the Lindisfarne Festival, which takes place at Beal Farm, Northumberland, from September 1 to 4.
They will play alongside Fatherson and international ‘Let There Be House’ DJ Glen Horsborough, who will be joining the Saturday line-up. North East act the Baghdaddies will also be playing alongside the James Taylor Quartet, Chainska Brassika, Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, funk band King Bee, Social Room, Velvoir and Mudfoot Blaps.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, organisers say this year promises to be even bigger and better, while still retaining its independence, intimacy and fun atmosphere.
The first wave of acts, which were announced in February, include Reef, The Cuban Brothers, Beardyman, Little Comets, Molotov Jukebox, Mercury nominated C Duncan, world renowned and Northumbrian born Kathryn Tickell & Superfolkus, Lisbon and Shields among many more.
Tickets are available to buy at £85 for the full festival weekend and £50 for a Saturday-only ticket.
