Hutton egg business expanding production

A Berwickshire free-range egg producer is expanding its facilities to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for its product.

MacLean Eggs has built a third poultry unit at Hutton Hall Barns and its sister company, Border Eggs, has walked off with a prestigious honour, having been crowned Egg Producer of the Year in the annual 2018 National Egg & Poultry Awards.

James and Angela MacLean were presented with the award at a prestigious ceremony at London’s Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington

Angela said: “We are pleased to have been recognised as one of the premier producers of free range eggs in Scotland.

“We are also delighted to be have been asked to expand our facilities to met the growing demand for producing local food whilst at the same time providing further employment opportunities in Berwickshire.”
