Debbie Spain and Simon Spruce, who work at the home at Braeside, Tweedmouth, successfully graduated from the Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) programme.

Vanessa Pepper, home manager said: “Everyone here congratulates Debbie and Simon on their success. We’ve supported them every step of the way and it’s great to see their hard work pay off.

“They are a great asset to the home and provide fantastic support to the residents here. They’re a great part of the team.

“Well done again! I can’t wait to see you putting your new skills to use,” she added.

The newly-qualified CHAPs are now able to provide some general nurse duties, such as medication rounds. This benefits the home as it enables the nurses to deal with more complex issues.
