Hide Hill offices could be converted into flats
Plans have been lodged to convert offices above the Berwick branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland into six flats.
The proposal is to split the floor plates up to form two one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat on each floor.
The new flats would be accessed from the existing communal entrance and access stairwell off Hide Hill, which also provides access to the rear of the property.
Galashiels-based Camerons Ltd states: ‘With the upper floors of this existing commercial property having lain vacant for a considerable period of time and starting to deteriorate, the applicant believes that the re-classification of the upper floors to residential usage will provide an opportunity to bring these floors back into use.’
Berwick Town Council has made no objection.
