Anne lost a parent to cancer and, as a teacher, has seen first hand how cancer can affect children.

She said: “In Berwick we are quite a distance away from the main hospitals which means that for many people, getting to and from treatments and check-ups can be extremely difficult.

“That’s where the Berwick and District Cancer Support Group comes in, they have a whole fleet of cars and drivers who transport cancer patients to and from hospital so they don’t need to worry. All of these journeys cost money and last year, the charity spent £65,919 on fuel, car insurance and vehicle upkeep and renewal.”

The shave is on July 16, at 3.45pm in the school hall.
