Grants available through Academy endowment fund
Applications are being invited for the Berwick Academy Endowment Fund which offers one-off grants of up to Â£1,000.
The Fund was established in June 2010, with the amalgamation of the Berwick Community High School fund and the George Cringle Scholarship Fund, which was originally resourced by various legacies left to the school by former staff and pupils.
The Berwick Academy Endowment Fund now offers one-off grants to students who wish to engage in a wide range of courses or extra-curricular activities.
Young people under the age of 25, who are or who have been Berwick Academy pupils, are eligible to apply.
Funds can be put towards specific study, training or coaching in any educational field, in sport or music; extra-curricular activities or to support elements of further/higher education courses.
Since transferring to the Community Foundation, grants worth more than £70,000 have been made.
The next deadlines for entries are January 15 and April 30, 2019.

The Berwick Academy Charitable Trusts Sub-Committee act as the fund advisors advisors and members of the sub-committee are appointed by the school’s governing body.
The funds have also made a number of exceptional awards to Berwick Academy itself in order to enhance its offer to students.
Current students who have benefited from submitting applications for funding are Abbi Rae, Chloe Ferguson, Sam Rogers and Eilidh Campbell. Abbi Rae received funding towards a trip to California to pursue further development in her sporting field of jiu jitsu. Sam Rogers and Eilidh Campbell received money to fund a summer acting camp, and Chloe Ferguson received a grant to put towards her county netball and cricket training.
