Lots of visitors attended the village hall on a bright but chilly afternoon to see the displays.

This was the 59th staging of the event so it is hoped to celebrate the diamond anniversary in style next year.

Show chairman Jane Bannister paid tribute to the late Herbert Mole, who sadly passed away a few weeks before the show. He had served as chairman since the early 1960s until last year.

Show secretary Brenda Sadler said: “We had just over 400 entries this year. Bulb entries were slightly down due to some bulbs failing and not making it to the show, however those that were there gave a beautiful array of colours.”

Adult craft entries were limited, but of good quality. The baking section was well supported with some impressive results and children’s entries were up, thanks to Longridge Towers and Norham St Ceolwulf’s School.
