Funds for litter prevention
Berwick Town Council is giving its financial backing to the fight against litter.
It is making £3,000 available from reserves to tackle litter prevention.
The money will be used to buy equipment such as notice boards or litter picking stations and to make micro grants of up to £250 to volunteer organisations to support their work on litter picking.
“We all need to do our bit to help,” she said. “We have two groups of volunteers who are doing a great job on Pier Road and Spittal beaches.
