Flint has been recognised for his efforts in the British Youth Championship, where he won with one round to spare, and his exploits in the European and World Championship. Leon also spent the season with French side MCM Marmande where he won the hearts and minds of the local fans in the inaugural season of the Championship.

The annual WSRA dinner and awards event will take place on the 11 November 2017 and Flint insists he is delighted to be nominated alongside two of British Speedways top talents.

Flint said, “It’s an honour to have been nominated for this award and to be recognised by riders and ex-riders. Both Dan and Robert have had brilliant seasons with their clubs and individually, and it is amazing to be nominated alongside them.

“I feel I’ve made giant steps this season both in the British Youth Championship and in Europe. I need to thank my grandad, dad and family for all their help and my sponsors for all their support this season.
