First mental health forum in Wooler
Last spring there was a workshop on mental health provision in the Glendale area which identified a particular issue.
How could people with mental health issues, loneliness, depression or just sheer isolation, identify the services that are available and which might be of help? How can their friends, neighbours, relatives and carers find out what there is and how to access it?
So, to continue the discussion and begin to find out more, the first session of a mental health forum is being held on Thursday, September 27, from 5.30pm to 7pm in the Cheviot Centre in Wooler.
Three speakers have agreed to come along and talk about their work: Paul Nicol who is Patient and Carer Involvement Facilitator at St George’s hospital in Morpeth; Angela Hara who is development counsellor for Cygnus Support; and a representative of MIND for Tyneside and Northumberland.
