Farm shop at garden centre seeking votes
Berwick Garden Centre's Farm Shop has entered the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2019 and they need your help to win!
The awards are highly respected in the industry for playing an important role in supporting, and celebrating, the UK’s independent, specialist retail market.
LisaDora Mason-Chadburn, marketing manager at Berwick Garden Centre, said “We’re growing to meet the needs of our customers and it is due to their requirements that we open at 8am for those on a morning bread and milk run.
“Although the garden centre has a 36 year history, we’re not complacent in ensuring the evolution of the goods and services we can provide. We know our customer service is one of our most endearing qualities and our business wouldn’t have such an individual personality without our friendly, enthusiastic members of staff.
“Being at the most northerly point of England gives us the opportunity to capture tourists from both sides of the border, with an abundance of local producers in Northumberland, Berwickshire and East Lothian to shout about.
“We’re proof that you don’t need to compete against the big supermarkets if you are selling quality products from local suppliers, with Tesco down the road from us.”
Each entrant will be judged on the many factors covering speciality retail including highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement.
Chairman of judges, Nigel Barden, will be joined by leading speciality retailers and key industry figures to bring a wealth of knowledge to the judging process. The judging process will include mystery visits and public votes from consumers via the Awards website.
Nigel, a food & drink broadcaster, commented, “I am delighted to continue to be involved with the Farm Shop & Deli Awards. It’s a fabulous initiative for the sector and offers the best way to recognise and reward excellence for the UK’s local, artisan and high street speciality retailers.”
Entrants will also have the opportunity to win as a Regional Winner. The Regional Winners will progress through to have the opportunity to win the overall coveted title of ‘Farm Shop & Deli Awards Retailer of the Year’ announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show, Monday 8th April 2019 at Birmingham’s NEC.
Voting closes on Wednesday 31st October 2018 and one lucky voter will be entered into a draw to win a food hamper.
