Explorer to talk about Antarctic adventure

A South Pole adventurer will be talking about her life and exploration at a business dinner

Antarctic adventurer Lt Jenni Stephenson will be guest speaker at the Institute of Directors’ Business Leaders’ Dinner on March 15, at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle.

Lt Stephenson is part of an all-female team looking to be the first to trek 1,700km across Antarctica.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, which includes a three-course dinner and is sponsored by Square One Law.

Lt Stephenson, from Blaydon, Tyne and Wear, attended St Thomas More Catholic School before studying English Literature and Philosophy at Durham University.

She is stationed with 32 Regiment Royal Artillery in Larkhill, Wiltshire, and passed through a rigorous selection process to become part of the Antarctica Ice Maiden team.

Dr Joanna Berry, chairman of the IoD in the North East, who will also be speaking at the event, said: “At the IoD our motto is ‘inspiring business’ and I can’t think of anyone as dynamic and inspiring as Lt Jenni Stephenson, who has risen to the top of her game through skill and determination.

Tickets are £70 plus VAT for an individual and £650 for a table of 10. IoD Advance members receive a 20 per cent discount.
