Pete Jones

Pete Jones lived in Berwick from 1980 to 1986 and was manager of the National & Provincial Building Society (now Santander) in Marygate and an active member of Berwick Round Table.

He moved on to Derby and then Wetherby but has retained his links with Berwick over the last 30 years and is still a member of Goswick Golf Club.

“I turned 65 on November 5, and retired on February 28, and decided I wanted a challenge to commemorate my retirement and to prove that you are never too old to fulfil your dreams,” he said.

Pete will set off from Berwick fire station at 10.30am, accompanied by his five-year-old golden retriever, Aslan. He is raising funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
