Emergency services rush to Holy Island after 'stranded vehicle' reported on causeway

An RNLI statement read: “At 3pm on Thursday, September 17, 2020, UK Coastguard requested the launch of Seahouses Inshore Lifeboat, to go to the assistance of a vehicle and occupants, reported stranded on Holy Island Causeway.
“The Holy Island Coastguard team had also been mobilised. On arrival, the Inshore Lifeboat commenced a search of the causeway, and the crew spoke with people present in the area both on the mainland side and on the Island side.

Hide Ad"No trace of a vehicle or persons could be found on the causeway’s entire length, and no persons were in the refuge box.
"After an extensive and thorough search of the area, the Inshore Lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.”
The RNLI said high tide on Thursday was at 3.38pm.
