Duns motorist is banned for drink-driving

A Duns man has been given a 12-month driving ban for drink-driving.

Barry Brown, 48, of Market Square, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Berwick Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

Magistrates were told the offence happened on the Travelodge car park in Berwick on November 18.

The defendant provided a positive breath test of 58mg alc/100ml breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

He was also fined £256 and ordered to pay an £30 court surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
