Berwick suffered a disappointing home league defeat when they were beaten by their namesakes at a dank Scremerston on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors , sitting above them in the East League 1 table, were in the ascendency from the start and two penalty kicks, with Jamie Pick kicking one for the home side, meant North Berwick led 3-6.

A try and conversion for the Scots saw them move 3-13 ahead, but a try from Dan Law, converted by Pick, saw Berwick reduce the gap to 10-13.

Pick then made a 30 yard dash to touch down for another Berwick try, and although the conversion was missed, the home side led 15-13, which was the score at half-time.
