Dancing the winter blues away in Belford
Just one of the many activities and services Bell View in Belford provides throughout the winter period are tea dances for older people.
The next one is on Sunday, November 27, between 2pm and 5pm. Live music will be provided by Gordon Brown.
Bell View centre operations manager, Paul Harrison, said: “Previous dances have been enjoyed by up to 35 people, dancing away the winter blues, keeping fit and having a great time with others. Others come just to watch, enjoying the company and live music.
“There is a £4 entry which includes an afternoon tea with possible transport available upon request (on a donation basis if used). There is also a raffle on the day where donations of prizes are always welcome. We would love to see you then.”
Meanwhile, Bell View’s annual general meeting takes place next Tuesday at the Resource Centre on West Street, with soft drinks and wine served from 6pm and the main meeting commencing at 6.30pm.
During the meeting, there will be short presentations from the charity and its trading arms about current developments and plans for the future.
Anyone attending is also invited to stay for drinks and nibbles afterwards with opportunities to talk to staff and trustees about the work of the charity.
Chairman Christine Harris said: “We hope people will join with us in celebrating recent successes and achievements from the past year, as well as finding out about future developments, as the charity moves into another busy year providing vital services for older people in north Northumberland.”
The management committee is always on the lookout for new trustees and advisors with particular skills and experience in human resources and finance.
