Alnwick stabbing latest: Police plea for information about 'isolated incident'

A 48-year-old man is in a stable condition after he was rushed to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary by ambulance following an assault near Lion Bridge, Alnwick, at around 6.50pm on Tuesday, June 16.
Police have described his wounds as “serious but not-life threatening” and confirmed that a 41-year-old man was still in custody on Wednesday afternoon after he was arrested in connection with the attack.

Hide AdNeighbourhood Inspector John Swan, one of the investigating officers, described the assault as an “isolated incident” and added: “Our inquiries into the circumstances around the incident are ongoing and our officers remain in the area to carry out inquiries and reassure the community.
“We are now appealing to the public for help and are urging anyone with any information to get in touch with us as it could help our investigation.”
