Cowe takes the lead in Wheelers' time trial league
An excellent night for racing saw a big westerly wind produce 11 personal bests in difficult to manage conditions.
Chris Cowe put in a great ride to take the full 10 points and take the lead in this year’s handicap time trial league on 35 pooints, Doug Robertson also had a strong race to take second on the night and third in the league on 27, with new member Paul Graham taking his best result so far fo r third place and eight points,
Dom Blythe held on to second in the league with his 2 points taking him to 29.
Actual finish times went against what most expected, everyone had to really give a huge amount of effort to make times to the turn respectable, but the return leg was well worth that effort with many completing the second five miles in under 11 minutes (28 MPH),
Andrew Scorey took fastest on the night with a 22:12, Andrew Waring second in a PB of 23:03 and Doug Robertson third in 23:24.
