Contemporary dance group on stage
An internationally touring contemporary dance company will be coming to Holy Island next month.
Through a series of choreographic works and commissions, Lo-Giudice Dance has received national and international recognition for its physically evocative and emotively charged repertoire, entertaining audiences across the UK and Europe.
Formed in 2011, Lo-Giudice Dance creates dance theatre performances inspired by the beauty, darkness and fragility of human existence, using movement and theatre as conduits that aim to provoke audiences to reflect upon their place within the world we live, their connections to one another, and their notions of humanity, mortality and the divine.
The group will be performing at the Crossman Hall on Holy Island on Friday, April 21, at 8pm.
Interweaving themes of carnal lust and the divine, brutal ferocity and the human soul, dancers knot physical and emotively powerful dance theatre with sound to create a sensual and spiritual experience, taking stories and runes from ancient wet stone, forgotten manuscripts and mystical ceremony, catapulting them into audiences’ eyes, ears and souls.
