Concern over parking bays
Concerns have been raised by town councillors over a planning application in Ravensdowne, Berwick.
An application has been submitted by James Ray for a single storey rear extension and alterations to the existing dwelling, plus the creation of two off-street car parking bays.
Berwick Town Council’s planning committee has objected on the issue of surface water drainage and loss of green space. The committee also requested that the views of the highways department be sought.
Concerns have also been raised by Berwick Civic Society.
Yeoman Architecture, in a report accompanying the application, states: ‘The proposed work to the front of the property, in reducing the size of the planting areas and creating off-street parking will slightly reduce the garden area, however, the adjacent property also has off-street parking’.
