Gallowglass chairman Paul Grecian is keen to open up job opportunities for people in Berwick.

“I spent my youth in Berwick and I know the value of getting experience in other parts of the world,” said Paul.

“We want to give people the chance to learn new skills and work on exciting events. Returning to the town with this valuable experience will also increase their chances of gaining further employment.”

Executives intend to return to the town before the end of the month to sign up locals to work out of their London office.

Coun Georgina Hill, member for Berwick East on Northumberland County Council, thinks the recruitment drive is a positive step for the town.

“While we try to maximise employment opportunities in Berwick itself, it is important to help our residents find employment elsewhere, as it is often necessary,” she said. “Young people, especially, can be keen and benefit from, at least a spell, of living and working elsewhere and there are obvious attractions to a city like London.”
