Church booklet points the way to a reflective ramble
St Andrew's Wallace Green and Lowick Church of Scotland in Berwick-upon-Tweed has produced a 16-page booklet entitled A Reflective Walk Around Berwick Town.
This small, pocket-sized publication gives residents and visitors an opportunity to slow down for an hour or so while it guides them around 10 key features within easy walking distance of the church.
Those taking advantage of the guide are first told a little about each location’s history and are then invited to reflect on a story from the Gospels, which the author felt was represented in the surroundings or heritage.
Many people from the church and community have been involved in the creation of the publication.
This includes the Thursday Walking Group, a few members of which are pictured with the booklet.
Members of the group tested and timed the route before we finally sent the work to press.
Copies of the booklet can be picked up at the Berwick Tourist Centre and other outlets around the town, as well as from the church.
The walking booklet can also be downloaded free from the Kirk News page of our website at www.sawg.org.uk
