The Berwick Community Choir held a concert at the Watchtower Gallery to much acclaim, covering songs from Monty Python’s ‘Song That Goes Like That’, Leonard Cohen’s Halleluiah, Frank Sinatra numbers, Bond theme tunes to a medley of gospel songs to finish off the evening.

Other highlights included a solo by Euan Bowes-Wilson, who was in fine voice, while Angela Winson performed two pieces from Joyce Grenfell with perfect comic timing.

Songs from the choir were interspersed with folk music from Amanda Martin and Karl Robbins, with a particularly lovely version of ‘Fields of Gold’. Ray and Sue Weatherburn, who form the band ‘Laid Back’ then, treated everyone to some 60s and 70s classics.

The concert was held to raise money for Bloodwise, and is the second event held by the choir in aid of the charity.
