Anne Wadey, from the West Street group, said: “It’s very much part of our ethos to promote art and we thought a competition might be an incentive parents could use to persuade young people away from their electronic stuff on winter bad weather evenings and during the Christmas holiday – although we are happy to accept digitally created pieces too.”

The family category is specifically created for ‘bad weather and bored’ days during the Christmas break so adults and children can create something together.

Entries can be dropped off at The Market Shop on Bridge Street. There are prizes for first, middle and high school ages.
