Charity's appeal to help raise vital funds
A charity is appealing for help to raise funds in the fight against cancer and also to mark a major milestone.
North East cancer charity FACT (Fighting All Cancers Together) is looking for people to help make 10,000 crafted cancer ribbons to raise money.
To mark the charity’s 10th anniversary, FACT is aiming to collect the ribbons by the end of August, which will be displayed at a location yet to be revealed.
The ribbons will then be sold for £1 to raise a target of £10,000, creating funds that will have a significant impact on the future of FACT and the services it provides.
Founder and chief executive Joanne Smith said: “The crafted cancer ribbon appeal is something individuals, groups and work colleagues can get involved with, and it can be as simple or as complex as people would like.
“The crafted ribbons can be made from plastic, metal, felt, beads, or anything people can get their hands on, no matter how big or small.
