CBBC make visit to police HQ
Northumbria Police are set to star on a children's TV programme to be aired tomorrow morning.
Film crews arrived at force headquarters in Ponteland just before Christmas to produce CBBC programme ‘All Over the Workplace’.
The series will see a number of children try their hand at their dream job and one episode will be focused on a career with the police service.
Northumbria were the number one choice for producers at CBBC and the force is set to star in the 30 minute programme tomorrow at 10.50am.
It will see schoolgirls Kyra, 11, and Abigail, 10, don a police uniform and get stuck in to a number of roles across the force.
The girls were joined by presenter Alex Riley as they spent time helping out with Motor Patrols, the Dog Unit and the Mounted Section.
Inspector Dave Little, of Northumbria Police’s Operations Department, has thanked CBBC for choosing Northumbria as the force featured in the programme.
He said: “We were proud to be part of this programme and it was great fun having Kyra and Abigail here with us for the week.
“They were really enthusiastic about the role and I’m sure they will make fantastic police officers if they decide to pursue it as a career when they grow up.”
A CBBC spokesperson said: “Northumbria Police were great to work with on this project. The access CBBC was given was instrumental in giving the girls, and our audience, a fully rounded insight into the different career opportunities there are within the police force, hopefully the programme has inspired others to consider it as a career.”
If you want to see the girls in action then make sure you tune into the programme which will be aired on the CBBC channel at 10.50am on Tuesday (15/3) morning.
