CBBC filming at Tweedmouth Middle
The BBC has been in filming Year 6 pupils at Tweedmouth Community Middle School, who have been taking part in the Super Movers experiment.
The experiment is looking at how physical activity impacts on learning.
Two of the Year 6 classes completed a mental activity in the classroom then one class was sent away to take part in some physical sessions run by Paul Yeadon, from Newcastle United Foundation – accompanied by Monty the Magpie – while the other class remained in the classroom to do some arithmetic papers.
Both classes were then given the same mental activity to do again to compare how exercise had impacted on brain function.
They also worked with Newcastle United Foundation creating some of their own goal celebrations.
Tweedmouth was one of only 16 schools across Britian to be chosen to take part in the experiment.
Super Movers will air on CBBC on March 5, and the school hopes it might appear on Look North in a preview.
