Canine pair get their winter coats in order
We are still looking for homes for a couple of pairs of young guineas, one set of girls and another of boys.
Like all the guineas we have, they are super cute, super chatting and great first pets for children.
We also have several boys, singles and pairs, who are around a year old.
Arla is a young German Shepherd cross looking for a home that can give her the time and cuddles she loves. Although timid at first, she is a very loyal girl who will give so much back to an owner.
Ochra is a young, rough coated lurcher, about nine months old. She is very sweet and, like Arla, loves cuddles. She walks well on a lead and although couldn’t be rehomed with small furries, she would probably enjoy the company of another dog.
We took in two beautiful dogs, Pepsi and Max, in appalling condition. Their coats were uncared for and Pepsi, a 14-year-old terrier, was missing half of hers, whereas Max, an eight-year-old Westie, had no undercoat at all. They are both on medication and we hope to see an improvement.
On this occasion we rang Claire at Wot-A-Clip in Scremerston, who fitted them in straight away for extra TLC, and they are looking and feeling much better. When we get dogs that need their coats attended to we ask Claire, or Trudi at Doggy Styles in Coldingham. Somehow they always forget to put a bill in, for which we, and the dogs, are immensely grateful.
Pepsi and Max will be looking for a home together sometime in the future when they are both feeling a bit brighter.
We have some brilliant goodies up for grabs in our Christmas hamper raffle. We are selling tickets over the coming weeks at Morrison’s, Tesco, Co-op Eyemouth, Co-op Seahouse and Homebase. They are also on sale at various places, including our shop and kennels, Direct Pets and Galedin vets.
Our Christmas coffee morning is at Walkergate on December 3, and the draw for the raffle will take place at our shop on December 17.
