Call-out for Berwick Coastguard to search for missing person

Berwick Coastguard was called to Eyemouth last night to assist in a search for a vulnerable missing person.

Teams from Dunbar Coastguard, Eyemouth Coastguard and North Berwick Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked around 6.30pm on Tuesday. Eyemouth Lifeboat was also tasked to the incident.

Information provided by Police Scotland Lothians & Scottish Borders Police Division was a request to search coastal paths near to Eyemouth itself.

Whilst en-route to the incident some good news was passed that the individual had been located by police allowing the team to stand down and return to station.

Meanwhile, Berwick Coastguard rescue team are holding an open evening on Thursday, January 24 at 7pm. This is an opportunity for anyone interested in joining the team to ask the current team members questions and see what they do. They are situated on Ramparts business park opposite Galedin veterinary surgery.
