Business as usual after consortium steps down

The consortium which was formed at the start of the season to help stabilise Berwick Speedway has quit.

In an announcement made last Friday, local businessmen Michael Mullan, Darren Amers and Dennis Hush revealed they had stood down with immediate effect.

They gave no reason for their decision, but wished the Bsandits well for the future.

Club promoter John Anderson, who claimed it would be business as usual: said: “I would like to thank Dennis, Darren and Michael publicly for their sincerity in coming forward to help Berwick Speedway this season.

“It’s a shame they have felt the need to leave before the season is finished but I wish them all the best.We would like to finish the season honourably with some good results, and who knows, a nice run in the KO Cup too maybe”
