Perryman's bus in Berwick

Coun Karin Graham, member for Grove ward, raised the issue at a Berwick Town Council meeting.

She said: “The realignment of the Perryman’s service is mainly affecting Prior Park.

“We have had the bus service removed in the evening after 5.30pm, which is very early, and we have no bus service now on Sunday.

“My residents generally don’t have cars. There are a lot of elderly people and a lot of families with young children. They can’t afford taxis. It’s no good for them trying to get their shopping.”

She called for support in addressing the issue from Coun Isabel Hunter, county councillor for Berwick West with Ord.

Perryman’s has previously stated that there is little demand for evening services and its changes aimed to simplify the network.
