BFS was founded by Genni Poole in response to local demand for arthouse and foreign language films following the first Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival in 2005. An experimental mini season of films proved that there was indeed regular support and enthusiasm.

The celebration event will be held on Tuesday, March 8, at 6.15pm with live Brazilian music in the Maltings bar by Dias Trio.

This will be followed by a screening in the cinema at 7.30pm of The Salt of the Earth on the life and work of international photographer Sebastao Salgado.

Tickets are £7.75, £6.75 concessions, BFS passholders free.
