Boys show off their pedal power for charity fundraiser

Very recently four boys from Tweedmouth Middle School Community Group took part in a charity exercise bike ride, within M&S Foodstore in Tweedmouth.

They were raising funds for Berwick and District Friends of Dementia.

As Her Grace, The Duchess of Northumberland is the patron of the charity, they were given the challenge of cycling (theoretically) the 45km to Alnwick in three hours.

Well, they absolutely smashed it. They not only managed to cycle all the way to Alnwick, but then also all the way back to Berwick – 90km in total. Wow!

They were accompanied by Ms L McDonald, TA from the school, who did a wonderful job of cheering them on, and also their headteacher, Mr B Hulbert, who went along during his lunch break to give them support and encouragement. Much appreciated.

Lots of mums, dads, grannies and grandads also went along and gave generously.

Combined with the many donations from the customers and staff of M&S, the boys raised the amazing sum of £315.44.
