Boots staff demonstrate pedal power

A fund-raising day was recently held in store at Boots Opticians in Berwick.

Berwick branch of Boots opticians fundraising for National Literacy Trust. The team carried out a 31 mile cycle challenge on an exercise bike outside the store and raised a grand total of £220 on the day.

Thanks to generous donations, the grant total of £220 was raised for The National Literacy Trust.

Store manager Liz Fairbairn said: “We would like to thank all of the customers and passers-by who donated to our charity The National Literacy Trust.”

The partnership aims to highlighting the links between eye health and literacy, helping to improve the literacy outcomes of the UK’s most disadvantaged children.
