Tweedmouth suffered their biggest defeat of the season to a very good Stow side.

The visitors immediately started the game on the front foot, knocking the ball around very confidently causing the home side problems.

But against the run of play Tweedmouth took the lead following a spectacular effort from all of 30 yards by Powling.

The lead was not to last long as Stow maintained their composure on a tricky pitch and soon drew level. They then got themselves into the lead shortly before the break.

Half time gave the home side time to regroup knowing that the next goal was vital. Unfortunately for Tweedmouth it was the visitors who did and scored, giving themselves a two-goal cushion.

This was soon added to as their ruthlessness in front of goal was to tell and a further two goals put the game to bed,

Tweedmouth did not allow their heads to drop and despite the scoreline they still continued to play some decent football and did get a little reward after being awarded a penalty which Robertson slotted home.

Falconer was then tripped inside the box only to see his appeal for a penalty waved aside.

The visitors immediately broke upfield and added their sixth goal.

Tweedmouth did have spells in the game to keep the scoreline closer but it was not to be and they must now look to bounce back next weekend away to Hawick Waverley.

Best for Tweedmouth was Stewart Wright.

Tweedmouth would like to thank Dove’s Building Supplies and Deborah the Domestic for the match sponsorship.
